Throughout May, let's honor and give special devotion to our Blessed Lady, Mary. Join in the Monday devotions at 6:30 pm at Assumption. Families are encouraged to bring flowers to the altar, say a family rosary, or create a May altar at home to honor Mary's intercession and guidance.
Congratulations to our First Communicants and their families this weekend. This is a beautiful time to reflect on the importance of the Eucharist in our lives as these young children receive Jesus for the first time. Let’s be sure to pray, support, and encourage not only these children but their families as this milestone in their faith life leads them closer to Jesus.
This Wednesday, we welcome Bishop Michael Fisher to St. Margaret Church to bestow the Holy Spirit on our candidates for confirmation. We pray that our 26 candidates are enlivened by the Holy Spirit to live their faith boldly in the world. All are welcome to come support our candidates and pray with us. We hope to see a full church supporting them in their faith.
Last weekend was Commitment Sunday, and the response was inspiring. While the actual figures are pending, one-time donations can be seen in the collection report in this week's bulletin. The parish appreciates the commitment shown towards the progress of our parishes, and further updates on the progress will be communicated to all. Thank you again for your support!
The first reading this week highlights a need in the early church community that was not being met. The Holy Spirit calls us to respond, particularly in areas that are neglected within our church. One such area to focus on is visiting our homebound parishioners and bringing them communion. The Outreach/Inreach pillar will coordinate efforts to address this need. Stay tuned for more details in the bulletin.
