Don't live with regret wishing you had ordered a few extra fish plates to take home this year. This is your last chance to stock up on the absolute best fish dinners you can purchase during lent. Get a few extra dinners to hold you over till lent starts again next year. Measure your freezer space to see how many extra plates you can fit. These plates won't last long so come early and get your Fish or Shrimp.
Please read all details below: Submissions – Entries must be emailed to sjc.tshirt.entry@hotmail(dot)com by 11:59pm April 5th (Easter Sunday) and must include your Name, Phone Number, and the file as an attachment in .png format. Voting – All valid submissions will be displayed after each Mass April 18th-19th where parishioners may vote on the best design. The design must include the following: > “For God did not give us a Spirit of cowardice, but a Spirit of power, love, and self control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 > St. John of the Cross Catholic Church > Lacombe LA > Holy Spirit Novena > May 15th – May 23rd, 2026 Submission requirements and recommendations: • The size should be 12 x 14 inches at 300 dpi. • All designs should include a transparent background. Submissions should be in .png format. • Designs can use up to 4 colors; however, you may use transparency and halftones. • Be careful as designs will be printed on a Cardinal colored shirt. The shirt color can be seen below. • Thicker lines are recommended for good quality prints. • Photoshop or Gimp are recommended software application that can help with your design. o Gimp is a free image editing and creation software. You can download if from www.gimp.org • Please feel free to email questions to sjc.tshirt.entry@hotmail.com and I will do my best to answer them. Winner - The winning design will be determined by both the most votes and printability. The winning design will then be used for this year’s Holy Spirit Novena T-Shirt. The winner will receive a complimentary Holy Spirt Novena t-shirt and a limited signed number 18 of 300 print of “Madonna with Child” by local artist Adam Sambola. By submitting a design, you explicitly grant St. John of the Cross Catholic Church permission to use said design for future use. Thank you and may the Holy Spirt guide your designs.
The funeral for Fr. Gil will be on Saturday, July 5th. Visitation 9-11am Funeral Mass 11am We will also stream the mass on: Facebook at www.facebook.com/stjohnofthecrosslacombe and on our Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/@stjohnofthecrosslacombe
The Holy Spirit Novena kicks off Friday, May 30th and goes through June 7th We have one UPDATE to the schedule: Saturday May 31st will now be Father Tuan Pham - Pastor St John of the Cross Saturday June 7th will now be Father Sidney Speaks - Pastor St. Joseph the Worker Check out the amazing line up of Priest who will be celebrating Mass each night. We also have some amazing musical groups who will lead us in some praise and worship. The Holy Spirit Novena is 9 consecutive nights leading up to Pentecost Sunday. Each night begins with praise and worship and confession at 6:30 p.m., followed by Mass at 7 p.m. The Holy Sprit Novena provides an amazing opportunity for you to grow in your faith. I urge you to come as many nights as you can. Let the Holy Spirit transform you. “May you abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans 15:13 For those who are unable to attend in person we will also be live streaming each night on Facebook at www.facebook.com/stjohnofthecrosslacombe and on our Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/@stjohnofthecrosslacombe Finally, If you are interested in getting a 2025 Holy Spirit Novena T-Shirt to promote, support, and commemorate this event please make sure to get your shirt orders in before 8:00 am Monday May 26ths.
