Morning! Today is the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. Did you know that the Catholic Church exclusively celebrates the earthly birthdays (Nativities) of three individuals on its liturgical calendar: 1. Jesus Christ (December 25) 2. The Blessed Virgin Mary (September 8) 3. St. John the Baptist (June 24) TODAY! For all other saints, the Church commemorates their feast day, which generally marks the day they died—celebrating their "birth into eternal life." The graphic below explains the differences between a Solemnity, Feast Days, and Memorials a little more in depth. St. John the Baptist pray for us!!

Today in 1941 Servant of God Fr. Walter Ciszek, a newly ordained Jesuit priest from Pennsylvania, was arrested by the Soviet Red Army. Accused of being a Vatican spy he was sentenced to 5 years in solitary confinement AND THEN 15 years of hard labor in Siberia. While in various prison camps, he managed to celebrate Mass and hear confessions. Father Ciszek recounted his experiences in the books “He Leadeth Me” and “With God in Russia,” co-written with fellow Jesuit Father Daniel Flaherty. Recently the cause for his canonization was terminated, although Vatican’s decision does not “diminish the enduring spiritual value” of his witness, said a leading advocate for the cause. His books and stories are incredible. I highly recommend listening to the live interview of Fr. Walter Ciszek’s experiences available on the Hallow app as well as their 13 day challenge called “He Leadeth Me” with excerpts from his book. He is a true witness and I pray someday his cause for canonization is reopened.

The American Heroes challenge starts tomorrow which focuses on the men and women that helped shape the United States of America and there’s still time to join! If you have access to the Hallow App, I encourage you to join this 13 day challenge with me!

Good evening! I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day! Let us ask St. Joseph, the Foster Father of Jesus, to bless all our Fathers.

This is a great graphic explaining common Catholic Acronyms! I’m confident every single person here has seen these symbols BUT do you know their meaning and significance? Check it out below!

"Heavenly Father, I commit this journey to You. Every mile, every turn, and every moment is in Your hands. Go before me to make the path straight and clear. Protect me from accidents, harm, and unseen dangers. Cover this vehicle [or flight], my fellow passengers, and myself with Your presence. Grant me peace of mind, and bring me safely to my destination and back home again. In Your name, Amen."
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Enjoy this 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time! ❤️
