Holy Cross College

In October, as we dedicate this month to the Holy Rosary, every prayer becomes a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and rest our souls in the presence of God. Walking hand in hand with our Blessed Mother, we place our days and worries into her care, discovering in this simple devotion a quiet sanctuary from the noise of the world. As we pray this Rosary, we entrust our deepest joys, trials, and silent intentions into the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We ask her motherly intercession to draw us ever closer to Jesus, granting us the grace to live each day with steady faith, humility, and inner peace.

Weekday Masses on October 12–15 and 19–22 will be replaced with Communion services since Fr. Jordan will be away from Monday to Thursday the next two weeks. Scheduled intentions for these Masses will still be offered by Fr. Jordan each day as part of his ongoing formation program for priests.

Eucharistic Adoration is scheduled for Mon, Tue, Thu, and Fri at 8:00am, followed by Mass on Wed at 5:00pm and on 1st Friday and 1st Sunday at 8:00am. Please note the changes in Mass schedule due to Fr. Jordan's absence.

Fr. Jordan reflects on sanctifying time by linking days of the week with Catholic traditions, recalling the significance of Sunday as the Holy Trinity and the Resurrection, Monday as the Holy Angels, and Tuesday as the Apostles, among others. Each Sunday, the celebration of the Resurrection, is emphasized as the principal focus of the week.

Events include a Bible study on Exodus on Mondays, a Mass intention for St. Ignatius of Antioch on Tuesday, a Spaghetti Supper fundraiser on Wednesday benefiting the Altar & Rosary Society, and Fides adult faith formation sessions on Wednesdays.

Prayers are requested for the sick members of the parish. Special Mass intentions are noted for specific individuals, and various parishioners and families are mentioned in need of prayers for recovery and well-being.

Saint Teresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church and master of the spiritual life, reveals to us that true prayer is simply an intimate conversation with the One who we know loves us. Her writings stand as a timeless guide into the interior castle of the soul, teaching us that in the quiet depths of our hearts, God abides as our steadfast friend, strength, and ultimate peace. As we journey through the days of this novena in her honor, we ask her intercession to kindle a passionate desire for prayer in our daily lives. May her courage and unwavering faith remind us that "God alone suffices," filling our hearts with trust, surrender, and deep spiritual clarity.

The Holy Angels stand as powerful guardians and silent messengers of God’s infinite love, accompanying us through every step of our earthly pilgrimage. Sent by the Lord to protect, defend, and guide our hearts toward heaven, their presence reminds us that we are never alone in our spiritual battles or in the quiet moments of daily life. May their constant vigilance inspire us to walk with courage, opening our souls to the light, peace, and protection that flow from the heavenly court into our lives.
