I posted these thoughts elsewhere but please allow me to repeat.       I am looking forward to Father Jeff’s upcoming presentation on the Gospel of Matthew (next Friday evening, December 2).   Being a little rusty on the terms, I reached out to Google to locate this quote on the basics, “The liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church consists of 3 Cycles, A – Matthew, B – Mark, and C – Luke. The liturgical cycle starts at Advent, followed by Christmas, Ordinary times, Lent, Paschal Triduum, Easter and ends at Ordinary time.”   So it is no surprise with the upcoming cycle (Actually now underway with Advent) of Matthew in the new liturgical year, that we should spend some time dwelling on the insights of scholars on Matthew’s perspectives on the life of Christ – such as what aspects of Matthew’s version are unique versus what aspects are common with the gospels of Mark, Luke, and John.   It should be a fascinating presentation. No pressure. I believe that it is ok, for our small community to be thirsty for some knowledge. With a little knowledge, Let’s just see what the Holy Spirit can stir up among us.   I hope that others will share my enthusiasm for the topic and attend the presentation this week.   An Anonymous Listener
