Pascha Bread and Baskets

Glory to Jesus Christ! This is a bit late, but here is the email sent out for our Pascha bread and basket making this Saturday! We are excited to celebrate Easter with you all this year! As a part of the Pascha tradition, we invite members of our mission community to learn about traditional Easter baskets and begin assembling them for yourselves and your families. Come and join us this Saturday, April 4th from 9am to 1pm at the Tamiian residence at 109 Holt Hills Rd, Nashville, TN 37211 to learn and reflect, bake Pascha bread, and dye eggs. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. You are receiving this email because you expressed interest in participating. Please RSVP (by venmoing) by Wednesday, 4/5/23 evening so we ensure we have enough ingredients and food for all. If you miss this deadline, just text Jaqueline (contact information below). To support our coming together to embrace this beautiful tradition as a mission family, we kindly ask participants for a $10 donation (per person) to cover the cost of the ingredients, food, and candles. Please venmo Jacqueline @jaymarie1494 Attached are some diagrams illustrating what goes into an Easter basket and why. The following is what the day will look like: From 9:00 am to 10:00 am, we will review the Easter basket tradition and have a short reflection. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, we will be baking and dying eggs red! Thanks be to Jesus, so many have expressed interest. So, all members will assemble their Pascha bread at the Tamiian residence and then take and bake in their own ovens. If you have any concerns about this, please let Jacqueline know. Magdalena has generously offered to make five extra loaves for people who cannot make it on Saturday but will be attending Sunday's Pascha Liturgy. Please let Jacqueline know if you are interested in receiving one. Magdalena requests that each person participating bring the following: A pan that is at least 2.5 inches deep and as big as you want your loaf (suggests 9 inch round or 9" x 11" rectangle) A medium size mixing bowl If you do not have these items, please let Jacqueline know! The “deadline” to RSVP has passed, but if you missed it please reach out to Jacqueline today and venmo her so she’ll buy enough ingredients and supplies to include you. Otherwise we will assume people who did not RSVP are not coming.
