As part of the observance of the 250th Anniversary of our country, the Bishops of the United States are preparing to consecrate the Church in our country to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our parish Novena in preparation for this Consecration continues at our daily Masses (8:30AM and 12 Noon in St Stanislaus Church). Friday is the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and we will be praying the Act of Consecration written by St Margaret Mary Alacoque at both Masses. June is widely recognized as the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus primarily because the solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated during this month (this year it is Friday, June 12th). The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a profound and enduring symbol within the Catholic Church, representing the immense love and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is a special form of devotion to Jesus—the focus being his Heart, which exemplifies our Lord’s redemptive suffering for the whole world. Five Symbols of the Sacred Heart The image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is rich with symbolism. The exposed Heart, often depicted with a crown of thorns, represents Jesus’ suffering and his immense love for humanity. The flames emanating from the Heart signify the transformative and purifying power of his love, while the cross above the Heart is a reminder of his redemptive sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. The wound in the side of his Heart represents the wound inflicted on him by both the Roman soldier and by all human beings through their sins. Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus The Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a traditional Catholic devotion consisting of nine days of prayers. The novena can be prayed at any time of the year, but it is traditionally prayed for the nine consecutive days leading up to the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, which is celebrated nineteen days after the Solemnity of Pentecost. June 3: Day 1 – Heart of Jesus, aflame with love for us June 4: Day 2 – Heart of Jesus, source of justice and love June 5: Day 3 – Heart of Jesus, worthy of all praise June 6: Day 4 – Heart of Jesus, patient and full of mercy June 7: Day 5 – Heart of Jesus, fountain of life and holiness June 8: Day 6 – Heart of Jesus, atonement for our sins June 9: Day 7 – Heart of Jesus, source of all consolation June 10: Day 8 – Jesus, gentle and humble of heart June 11: Day 9 – Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus In a historic moment, the U.S. Catholic Bishops will mark the country's 250th anniversary by formally consecrating the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026. This historic spiritual event coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and seeks to bring healing, unity, and Gospel values to the country.

As part of the observance of the 250th Anniversary of our country, the Bishops of the United States are preparing to consecrate the Church in our country to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our parish Novena in preparation for this Consecration continues at our daily Masses (8:30AM and 12 Noon in St Stanislaus Church). Friday is the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and we will be praying the Act of Consecration written by St Margaret Mary Alacoque at both Masses. June is widely recognized as the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus primarily because the solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated during this month (this year it is Friday, June 12th). The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a profound and enduring symbol within the Catholic Church, representing the immense love and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is a special form of devotion to Jesus—the focus being his Heart, which exemplifies our Lord’s redemptive suffering for the whole world. Five Symbols of the Sacred Heart The image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is rich with symbolism. The exposed Heart, often depicted with a crown of thorns, represents Jesus’ suffering and his immense love for humanity. The flames emanating from the Heart signify the transformative and purifying power of his love, while the cross above the Heart is a reminder of his redemptive sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. The wound in the side of his Heart represents the wound inflicted on him by both the Roman soldier and by all human beings through their sins. Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus The Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a traditional Catholic devotion consisting of nine days of prayers. The novena can be prayed at any time of the year, but it is traditionally prayed for the nine consecutive days leading up to the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, which is celebrated nineteen days after the Solemnity of Pentecost.
