Solemnity of St. John the Baptist

Morning! Today is the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. Did you know that the Catholic Church exclusively celebrates the earthly birthdays (Nativities) of three individuals on its liturgical calendar: 1. Jesus Christ (December 25) 2. The Blessed Virgin Mary (September 8) 3. St. John the Baptist (June 24) TODAY! For all other saints, the Church commemorates their feast day, which generally marks the day they died—celebrating their "birth into eternal life."
