Rex Barte, Diocesan Farmers Director, together with Fr. Nonon Piguerra, Diocesan Director for Ecology. It was a meaningful time of prayer, reflection, and fellowship, reminding the faithful that peace, justice, and care for creation are deeply interconnected. IN PHOTOS | 62nd Parochial and Town Fiesta Last August 15, 2025, the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Asuncion, Davao del Norte solemnly celebrated its 62nd Parochial and Town Fiesta in honor of its patroness, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The highlight of the celebration was the Fiesta Mass, presided over by Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, D.D., Bishop of Tagum, and concelebrated by several priests, including the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Jerson Estose. With hearts full of faith and gratitude, parishioners and devotees gathered to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, who, in the mystery of her Assumption, was taken body and soul into heaven, reminding the faithful of the hope of eternal life promised to all who remain steadfast in Christ. The fiesta was not only a moment of prayer and thanksgiving but also a vibrant expression of unity, culture, and tradition in the town of Asuncion. Truly, the celebration reflected the enduring devotion of the community to their patroness, who continues to intercede for her children and lead them closer to her Son. LOOK | Highlights of the 62nd Parochial and Town Fiesta In honor of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, Asuncion came alive with prayer, joy, and devotion for its 62nd Parochial and Town Fiesta. The Pontifical Mass was solemnly presided by Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, D.D., Bishop of Tagum, with Rev. Fr. Jerson Estose, our dedicated parish priest, and concelebrating clergy. Together, they led the faithful in giving thanks to God for the gift of Mary, assumed body and soul into heaven, our model of faith and our heavenly intercessor. Our Lady of the Assumption, believed to have been taken up into heaven in body and soul at the end of her earthly life, reminds us of the hope and glory promised to all who follow Christ. She is the shining star who guides the faithful of Asuncion to a life of holiness. From the prayerful liturgy to the vibrant fiesta atmosphere, the celebration became a true testament to the deep Marian devotion and unity of the community. 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 3rd Quasi-Parochial Fiesta of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Quasi-Parish, Limbaan, New Corella With hearts filled with joy and devotion, the faithful of Limba-an came together to celebrate the 3rd Quasi-Parochial Fiesta in honor of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The Fiesta Mass was solemnly presided over by Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, D.D., Bishop of Tagum, together with the Quasi-Parish Administrator, Rev. Fr. Ver Anthony Abucay. The celebration overflowed with expressions of faith—solemn liturgy, vibrant music, and the warm fellowship of the community—reflecting the deep love and trust of the people in the maternal intercession of the Blessed Mother. Known for his burning zeal for the salvation of souls, St. Dominic dedicated his life to proclaiming Christ with clarity, love, and humility. He traveled tirelessly, preaching the truth of the Gospel and defending the faith with wisdom rooted in prayer and study. St. Dominic was often seen walking barefoot, carrying only the Scriptures, and living a life of simplicity, showing that true preaching comes not only from words but from the witness of one’s life. Through the Dominican mission, he inspired countless men and women to follow the path of truth (Veritas), leading others to God through study, contemplation, and service to the poor. His legacy continues to shine in the Church’s mission to proclaim the Good News to all. May we, like St. Dominic, be fearless in preaching Christ, steadfast in prayer, and joyful in living the truth.
